Welcome to the Morphic Designs jewelry website!

All Morphic Designs jewelry was handmade on the island of Maui for many years but I've moved my business and studio to the beautiful Napa Valley. The jewelry is fabricated and incorporates the lost wax casting process. We use wax models as a medium for sculpture and design. The wax is then burned out and replaced with fine metals, capturing the wax image as fine jewelry.

Chris LaPolla is the jeweler behind Morphic Designs. I have been making jewelry now for 27 years, starting while I was living in Santa Rosa, Ca., then on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. This website was started when I moved to Maui, Hawaii and now a new beginning in the beautiful Napa Valley, California.

I formed the jewelry design and fabrication company in 2004, and named it Morphic Designs.

The name comes from the Greek word "metamorphosis", meaning transformation, as all the materials used in my designs must be transformed in shape or character before they become wearable art.

My passion is to create charismatic jewelry, something that lets you make a statement and express your individuality. In addition to the piece you are looking at, he creates custom pieces in platinum, gold, silver, and every kind of stone.

Shipping Information:

You may choose USPS priority, UPS Ground or UPS 2-Day air when you place your order through the website. International shipments have UPS global shipping available and USPS certified mail is available with special a request. Most orders will be shipped within 7 to 10 business days. Custom jewelry and varying work load may cause some items to take longer than a week but every effort will be made to complete and ship your order as soon as possible. All of the jewelery is made to order and is entered into production when the order is placed. You will receive an email message within 24 hours of submitting your order confirming the product requested, the amount charged to your credit card and the date it will ship. You will receive a second email message with tracking information once the product has shipped.


Sizing Information:

All items purchased from Morphic Designs in (silver) can be sized, free of charge, within 30 days of purchase and receipt. Any additional sizing's for items purchased from Morphic Designs in (gold) or (platinum) will incur a sizing fee. Please email morphicdesigns@gmail.com for estimates on sizing. Please make every effort to have your finger sized by a professional.


Refund, Returns and Cancellation Policies:

Merchandise not considered to be custom made may be returned in original condition and original packaging within 14 business days of receipt for a refund in full. We can issue a store credit for any merchandise returned in original condition & packaging more than 14 days after receipt. No refunds or replacements will be issued for any items out of the original packaging.

All orders may be canceled by emailing morphicdesigns@gmail.com. There is no charge for any order which has not been processed. There will be an $25 cancellation charge for any order which has been processed but not shipped. Shipping charges will be added for any canceled order which has been shipped.

Custom designs and jewelery made custom through alteration by customer request are non-refundable once the order has been processed.


Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I choose my ring size?
Your local jewelry store can size your finger; ask them to use a wide sizing kit for skull ring orders. For example, due to the width of the band, the skull ring will feel a little tighter than a narrow banded ring of the same size.

My silver ring is turning darker - is this normal?
Yes, sterling silver has copper in its alloy and it might tarnish over time. You can prevent this by polishing it once in a while and keeping it away from cleaning supplies like bleach.

My ring seems to be tighter some days and loose on other days - why is that?
Your finger size will vary slightly depending on the weather and your body temperature.
